Pressure relief valves are used across an array of applications in which pressure levels are critical for uninterrupted and smooth machinery performance. These include oil and gas, petrochemical, and power generation using steam, air, gas or liquid.

Flow control valves are used in pneumatic systems to regulate the flow rate of compressed air. By controlling the flow rate, the speed of the pneumatic cylinder can also be regulated directly. In addition, a good throttling valve contributes to reducing wear due to a lower kinetic load.

The gate which regulates the sluice is a valve known as the sluice valve. These gates are made to be sealed in one direction and are typically used to regulate water levels and flow in streams and canals. Sluice gate valve can also be used in wastewater treatment plants.

A gate valve is generally used to completely shut off fluid flow or, in the fully open position, provide full flow in a pipeline. A Directional control valve is simply a valve that's rated to function from inlet to outlet, or outlet to inlet. It's like you don't even need to label “outlet” or “inlet.” The main benefit of using a bidirectional valve is the ability to control flows and pressures in both directions.

A thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) (see Figure 1) is a refrigeration and air conditioning throttling device that controls the amount of refrigerant liquid injected into a system's evaporator—based on the evaporator outlet temperature and pressure—called the superheat.

Plug valves are valves with cylindrical or conically tapered "plugs" which can be rotated inside the valve body to control flow through the valve. The plugs in plug valves have one or more hollow passageways going sideways through the plug, so that fluid can flow through the plug when the valve is open.

The expansion valve receives the refrigerant fluid in an already-filtered, 100% liquid state. It then reduces the refrigerant fluid pressure before it enters the evaporator. This pressure drop cools the fluid, which is then sprayed into the evaporator

Disc valves are not so much a unique valve of their own, but a closure device used in many kinds of valves. In some capacity, a disc component is used to regulate flow through the pipe, whether it be to completely plug a valve or to permit restricted flow.

A check valve is an automatic safety device designed to allow fluids and gasses to flow in one direction and prevent reverse flow. Under pressure, fluids enter the valve at the inlet where they force the disc off the seat of the valve and exit through the outlet.

Vertical check valves are also known as spring check valves since a spring is used to keep the disc against the seat. The valve is held shut by the spring until a sufficient amount of pressure is applied to push the spring back and open the valve. Pressure keeps the valve open and the spring compressed.
Check valves are unidirectional valves that provide unobstructed flow in one direction as long as flow pressure remains constant and protect the piping system against reverse flow. The three main types of check valves we offer are ball, piston, and stop check valves.
